(...) Oὐσία è la forma contratta (Verkürzung) di παρουσία, «essere presente» ([[lx>termos:g:gegenwartigsein|Gegenwärtigsein]]). Più frequente è il suo contrario, l’ἀπουσία, l’«assenza» ([[lx>termos:a:abwesenheit|Abwesenheit]]), che però non significa semplicemente «niente» ([[lx>termos:n:nichts|nichts]]), bensì: qualcosa c’è, ma c’è in una mancanza ([[lx>termos:m:mangel|Mangel]]). Vederci da un occhio solo è un vedere nell’ἀπουσία. L’ἀπουσία è il fondamento ontologico per la categoria fondamentale della στέρησις. (GA18IT)
