O atingir o todo do Dasein na morte é ao mesmo tempo a perda do ser do “aí”. A passagem ao já-não-ser-“aí” priva precisamente o Dasein da possibilidade de experimentar essa passagem e de entendê-la como experimentada. Em todo caso, semelhante experiência deve permanecer negada a cada Dasein relativamente a si mesmo. Tanto mais impositiva é no entanto a morte dos outros. Um findar do Dasein torna-se, por conseguinte, “objetivamente” acessível. O Dasein, tanto mais que ele é por essência um ser-com com outros, pode obter uma experiência da morte. Essa datidade “objetiva” da morte deve, então, possibilitar também uma delimitação ontológica da totalidade-do -Dasein.

Mas essa informação imediata, que se busca no modo-de-ser do Dasein como ser-um-com-o-outro e que consiste em escolher o chegar-ao-final do Dasein de um outro (657) como tema substitutivo da análise da totalidade-do-Dasein, permite que se alcance a meta proposta? (p. 657-659)

Alcanzar la integridad del Dasein en la muerte es, al mismo tiempo, una pérdida del ser del Ahí. El paso a no-existir-más (nichtmehrdasein) saca precisamente al Dasein fuera de la posibilidad de experimentar este mismo paso y de comprenderlo en tanto que experimentado. Sin duda esta experiencia le está vedada a cada Dasein respecto de sí mismo. Tanto más se nos impone entonces la muerte de los otros. Así un llegar del Dasein a su fin resulta “objetivamente” accesible. El Dasein puede lograr, ya que él es por esencia un coestar con los otros, una experiencia de la muerte. Este darse “objetivo” de la muerte deberá posibilitar también una delimitación ontológica de la integridad del Dasein.

¿Conduce al fin propuesto este fácil recurso, tomado del modo de ser del Dasein (GA2 238) en cuanto convivir, que consiste en escoger como sustituto para el análisis de la integridad del Dasein, al Dasein de los otros que ha llegado a su fin?

Atteindre à la mort son entier, c’est, pour le Dasein, perdre d’un seul coup l’être du là. Passer au n’être-plus-Dasein enlève justement au Dasein la possibilité de ressentir ce passage et de l’entendre comme ce dont il a eu l’expérience. Ce qui est sûr, c’est que semblable expérience ne peut que rester refusée à chaque Dasein en ce qui le concerne lui-même. La mort des autres n’en est que plus impressionnante. Le Dasein touchant à son terme y devient « objectivement » accessible. Le Dasein peut, d’autant mieux qu’il est essentiellement être-avec en compagnie des autres, acquérir une expérience de la mort. Cette mort qui est donnée « objectivement » doit alors permettre aussi de circonscrire ontologiquement l’entièreté du Dasein.

Est-ce à dire que ces évidences que nous enseigne le genre d’être (GA2 238) du Dasein qu’est l’être-en-compagnie, vont nous convaincre de changer de thème et de choisir celui du Dasein d’autrui arrivé à sa fin pour atteindre au but que nous nous proposons, analyser l’entièreté du Dasein? (p. 290)

When Dasein reaches its wholeness in death, it simultaneously loses the Being of its "there". By its transition to no-longer-Dasein (Nichtmehrdasein), it gets lifted right out of the possibility of experiencing this transition and of understanding it as something experienced. Surely this sort of thing is denied to any particular Dasein in relation to itself. But this makes the death of Others more impressive. In this way a termination (Beendigung) of Dasein becomes 'Objectively' accessible. Dasein can thus gain an experience of death, all the more so because Dasein is essentially Being with Others. In that case, the fact that death has been thus 'Objectively' given must make possible an ontological delimitation of Dasein's totality.

Thus from the kind of Being which Dasein possesses as Being with one another, we might draw the fairly obvious information that when the Dasein of Others has come to an end, it might be chosen as a substitute theme for our analysis of Dasein's totality. But does this lead us to our appointed goal? (p. 281)

Das Erreichen der Gänze des Daseins im Tode ist zugleich Verlust des Seins des Da. Der Übergang zum Nichtmehrdasein hebt das Dasein gerade aus der Möglichkeit, diesen Übergang zu erfahren und als erfahrenen zu Verstehen. Dergleichen mag allerdings dem jeweiligen Dasein bezüglich seiner Selbst versagt bleiben. Um so eindringlicher ist doch der Tod Anderer. Eine Beendigung des Daseins wird demnach »Objektiv« zugänglich. Das Dasein kann, zumal da es wesenhaft Mitsein mit Anderen ist, eine Erfahrung vom Tode gewinnen. Diese »objektive« Gegebenheit des Todes muß dann auch eine ontologische Umgrenzung der Daseinsganzheit ermöglichen.
