Quando se afirma, por exemplo, que a pesquisa do cérebro é uma ciência fundamental para o conhecimento do homem, esta afirmação implica que a relação real e verdadeira de homem para homem é uma relação mútua de processos cerebrais, que na própria pesquisa do cérebro como pesquisa nada mais acontece, a não ser que um cérebro de um certo modo – diz-se atualmente – informa um outro e nada mais. Neste caso, por exemplo, a apreciação de uma estátua de um deus grego no Museu de Acrópoles durante as férias e, portanto, fora do trabalho de pesquisa, na realidade e na verdade nada mais é do que a coincidência de um processo cerebral do observador com o produto de um processo cerebral, a estátua representada. Wenn zum Beispiel behauptet wird, die Gehimforschung sei eine Grundlagenwissenschaft der Erkenntnis des Menschen, so schließt diese Behauptung in sich, daß das Wahre und das wirkliche Verhältnis von Mensch zu Mensch ein Wechselbezug von Himprozessen sei, daß in der Gehimforschung Selbst als Forschung Nichts anderes geschieht, als daß ein Gehim ein anderes in bestimmter Weise, Man sagt Jetzt: informiert und nichts außerdem. dann ist zum Beispiel die Bewertung eines griechisehen Götterstandbilds im Akropolismuseum während der Semesterferien, also außerhalb der Forschungsarbeit, in Wirklichkeit und Wahrheit nichts anderes als das Aufeinandertreffen von einem Gehimprozeß des Betrachters mit dem Produkt eines Gehimprozesses, dem vorgestellten Standbild. Versichert man jedoch während der Ferien, so sei es natürlich Nicht gemeint, dann lebt man mit einer doppelten oder dreifachen Buchführung, die sich freilich mit der sonst beanspruchten Strenge der Wissenschaftlichkeit schlecht zusammenreimt.
